Installed CFR slip-on's to a all stock system and now the right exhaust gets extremely hot.
Took the bike out for a test ride of about 4 miles after the install and when I brought it back and shut off the motor the right exhaust kept smoking a white smoke for a good 5 minutes. I got down and looked through the end of the right exhaust and I could see a red glow, appeared to beyond the slip-on maybe it was the cat that was red hot. I am really hoping I did not roast one of my new slip-ons. I have parked my bike until I can figure out what is going on.

I don't believe that to be normal.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Its normal. There's a catalytic converter installed in the "Y". Most folks take them out due to the extreme heat. They do get red hot. There are threads here on how to do that.

Thanks for the reply.
As of this weekend the cat is going to be gone!! Now that will put me running a de-catted stock pipe with CFR slip-ons with a stock intake.
From everything I have read, I should not need a remap since I'm still running the stock intake.
Thanks Again

Joe

I gutted mine and didn't need a remap. There's two ways to gut it. They're listed here in the forum someplace. You can cut into the side of the pipe, pull it out and weld the pipe back but I just used a big hammer and a long pry bar and chipped away at it until it was all gone. Took about an hour. Good luck
