Fairing not seating correctly with LRS

Got my LRS ultra wide, install was easy, but the windshield won't allow the fairing to seat properly on the gasket. There is a 1/16th inch gap that tapers down on both sides. Any ideas as to why?

Likely because of the thickness of the windshield. I seen where some people were adding some type of weather stripping. I also have the LRS but for some reason I don't have that problem. I'm sure you already checked but are you certain the fairing and the grooves in the shield are lined up correctly, especially if you have a windshield pouch then they all three have to line up perfect. Did your shield come with weather stripping to put in the gap ?

No weather stripping included, lined up correctly, no pouches. It's as if the shield doesn't match up with the curve of the fairing.
