Has anyone used that Micro Tuner from Fuel Moto? Opinions? 200 bucks sound a lot better to me than 4-5 for PC or SE tuners.

I have not but if Jamie at Fuel Moto carry's them it must be pretty good. You can actually call him and he'll shoot straight about their pluses and minuses. Fuel Moto is also a forum sponsor so give him a shout out before you do anything. :)

I don't YET, but I do plan on getting that model. I will buy a stage one air breather kit, and the micro tuner. I already replaced my pipes. I will replace the headers with a cat-free pipe. I will never buy a big bore kit or change the cam, so I don't see a need in buying a $400+ tuner.

If you only plan on doing what I am doing (or less) it should be good to go. But if you think you may change the cam one day down the road then I'd consider buying the bigger one now so you don't buy twice.

I don't plan on cams, big bore, etc. Unless I happen to win the lottery. I have De-Catted head pipe. Plan on getting some 4" slip-ons and a SE air cleaner kit for it soon...but that is about all I will probably do...so, looks like this tuner will do the trick. Was just curious if anyone had any hands-on experience with it and could tell me any pros/cons. Price is right, so that is most likely the route I will go unless I see something posted negatively about it between now and then. THanks.

What you plan now is most likely not what you plan later. I planned to leave mine stock! LMFAO!!!! I'm $2500 in the hole now and don't see a end in sight. Just my .02

Agree. In my opinion your better off getting a tuner that will let you change engine configurations. I would talk with Jamie at Fuel Moto, for me he recommended the power vision and I'm glad he did. Right now I don't plan on doing cams or anything, but plans change.

I understand that plans can change and NO ONE owns a stock Harley, but I know myself and my situation well enough to know that I will never have the "extra" money to do engine mods. I have a wife and kids and any "extra" money would be spent doing something for them rather than a unnecessary modification to my bike. So, unless I win the lottery it will not happen..and, if I did win the lottery- throwing a 200 dollar tuner in the trash would not hurt my feelings. ;)

I put a Micro Tuner from Jamie on my wife's 2009 1200 sportster. She has a Screamin Eagle stage one air cleaner and Screamin Eagle slip on mufflers. Her bike had been running too lean before the changes. With the changes we did the HD factory download for the new configuration and it still ran too lean. Then I installed these http://sales.nightrider.com/Sportster_c_13.html
but it was still not running correctly. I then purchased the Micro Tuner which Fuel Moto mapped for our exact components and the bike now runs as it should. For a basic stage one build the micro is all you should need.
