I may be over-analyzing this, but this one has me baffled, and I'd rather ask first and do the right thing, than pay for something I screwed up.

I have a 2014 SGS and I want to add the Slotted Gear Shift Linkage 33760-09 to the bike. I took off the stock linkage, but when putting on the new one, the front acorn bolt that goes on the backside of the front shifter lever that's connected to the heel-toe shifter looks like it'll contact the fins on the front cylinder. According toe the instructions, the front end of the slotted linkage goes on the backside of shifter lever (closest to the engine). The back end goes on the outside of the gear shifter rod.

Are you folks that have added this item extending the slotted linkage forward, and then readjusting the heel-toe shifters so that they are in a more level condition? Any advice would be appreciated.

Well I answered my own question by going to the "other" site and got the answer I needed. It looks much better than the standard linkage.
