I wished I was with ya on the VC ride. I got mine out and rode today-it had been awhile and it sure felt good!

Took the bike to work with me earlier today, was around 70 something degrees. About to ride back home at about 60*. Brr!!!

Took a nice ride with spousal unit for MLK day. Went to North Shore and then lapped the island (as much as one can on Oahu). Background is Chinaman's Hat near Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Yep, its winter here...had to wear socks!

Enjoy the island, I had the pleasure of renting at Pacific HD and riding the outer edge of the big island a few years back.

Thanks Mojo and SG12. Yep, enjoying our time here in HI. Getting miles racked up quickly on the new bike as I ride it almost every day to work. Back home, family in the Black Hills are wearing extra socks too! Subject change...Prob moving back to Germany in 2016 or '17. Worried that if I put the headers and 2-1 exhaust/mapping and intake that it will not pass TUV (dot/insp folks) noise test. Maybe I bring the stock stuff with just in case...Any ideas out there? I have little (no) experiance with HD as I have always riden BMW (naturally stock) while living there...

In Germany they have mobile noise scanners and further down the road they will stop and fine you when you are too loud. Better get the a Jekyll and Hyde adjustable or other brands like these with adjustable sound levels. Or ride with muffler inserts..

Sage advice. Thanks! I remember riding my beemer mostly around the Frankfurt area and sometimes witnessed the Polezei stoppng an HD rider on the autobahn and figured it was because of that. I know they are strict (at least the state of Hessen) about it and if i tried to be cute, just pass the test, then put my non OEM components back on...Das ist nicht gut!
