Gopro and mounts

Another great little camera with longer battery life and several charger types and mounts included is the Replay XD. It shoots 720p, 1080i and 1080P 30 & 60 fps.

I bought the mount/kit I have for the GoPRo my buddy is letting me borrow. I will say in all the reading GoPro has the most options/accessories. I would like to see more options out there to keep the pricing of these devices more competitive. The kit I bought has a battery eliminator that plugs into the unit and the lighter on the bike. I just have to locate or purchase a skeleton case for it .

Here is my first video I put together. It was during a 350 mile day over to Rt 666 in the Allegheny Forest in Pennsylvania over this past weekend.

Michael- I loved everything in the video except the Prostate ad that popped up (haha).

Michael,

Very nice video. I will have to look into that mount as I have a Ram Mount that goes on the engine guard and it has noticeably more vibration than yours did. I just bought a new 4+ about 2 months ago when they offered a coupon for $100 off.

Mojo, I didn't see any prostate ad, so maybe it's just telling you something. ;) Or any ad for that mater. (pop-up blockers work wonders) lol

Thanks it is my first one and will keep trying to get better. The mount is very simple but works. I looked for a while and it came out the best choice in my search. I bought the mount/kit for $77 including shipping. This included the mount, the Hog collar to tether it, plus a battery eliminator that feeds through a skeleton case. I think the 4 mount/kit is like $10 more relating to a different battery eliminator. Great customer service too. Mark the owner answered my questions via email and on the phone all within an hour of emailing him.

From experience, I'd recommend away from using a helmet mount. I tried using my gopro mounted to the side of my helmet, and the neck strain from the mount pulling my head to one side was more than I wanted to deal with. Unfortunately the gopro box isn't overly aerodynamic.

I've seen a helmet mount that put the camera over the chin area, but I think on these bikes you'd lose too much visibility with that mount.

image.jpgI got two Ram post mounts that go in the holes by both the clutch and brake levers. The camera peeks over the faring. Tried it last weekend looks great, video turned out good.

Nice video and I like how steady that location is for filming. Wife maybe getting me one of these as she was hinting the other day.

Not very scenic around here all flat, non twisty roads. I'm doing a Wounded Warrior run Friday I will try out mt helmet mount on that one.

Is youtube the only way to upload a link here? Just starting to play with my GoPro4. I have some video with it mounted on the engine gaurd with the RAM mount but not sure how to uploaded on this site.

Thanks!

Yeah... you have to use YouTube or PhotoBucket (or the like ) to upload and link to it.

The GOPRO editing software when done lets you select the type of format to use on YouTube.
You can also edit through YouTube.

I shot some video Friday ( Wounded Warrior Escort )using a helmet mount, turned out fine. Not done with the edit.

I tried uploading to my photobucket account but is said file size was to large. It was about an 8min video with one song added.

Zero experience with youtube so I guess it's time to figure that out :)

Photo bucket can be iffy at times... YT works better.. but I have used PB on occassion

Well link seems to work but the video quality after loading on YouTube is very weak compared to watching it directly from computer or on the TV.

When i exported it from GoPro Studio I used the YouTube settings. Video was recorded in 1080p mode.

I welcome any tips/suggestions.

Give it a little time to fully process on YouTube's servers. I'd say in about an hour after uploading max it should be good, and I'm being generous with the time frame.
