I picked up a set of bars that are the same height and width as factory, but come back a couple inches. Local mechanic is too backed up to do the work, so I'm going to give this a go myself. He says I shouldnt have to take the faring off and too that I should be able to just let the clutch and switch housings hang while swapping bars out. This sound right? Also, anyone know torque spec for the bars for a 2011 Street Glide? Still working on grabbing a manual...........Appreciate any comments or advice.

Hi,

Word of advice. Dry fit your new bars first!!! I got deep into my install with the only step left was to prop the batwing back on its perch so to speak.. only to find out that the new bars were NOT allowing the batwing to rest in its proper position.

And I was not about to start trimming and modifying my batwing’s inner fairing to accommodate expensive “no mods necessary” custom bars.

So make sure they work.

Signed
Incredibly fustrated n disappointed.
