Got a letter today from Harley stating due to massive clutch recalls and their blah bah blah to quality they are extending the hydraulic clutch warranties for two additional years on 2015's.

They don't specify only that the clutch is covered so I guess whatever is covered under the factory coverage.

Got the same letter today, just a bit concerned that they have not explained what could go wrong, so why have they offered to extend the warranty, if there is no issue?

My 14 has had 4 recalls ...

Rushmore = rush 1 more time back to dealer ...

So the recall pertains to the hydraulic clutch master cylinder. The rubber plunger is the problem. Its allowing fluid to leak past and if the motorcycle sits for an extended period of time, say over the winter or perhaps a shorter length of time, the rider would not be able to disengage the clutch.
It has nothing to do with the clutch its self.

I got my letter today also.
I phoned the dealership and they told me that the clutch cylinder parts had been replaced before i took delivery.

I never get any of these fargin letters!!!

Sorry to thread jack but this is a related issue:

I bought my bike from a guy when it was 3 months old (12 months ago) and even though I have had 3 warranty repairs, and Harley have changed my name on the extended warranty they still show that guy as the registered owner for the standard warranty and I'm guessing he is getting all these damn letters.

I've tried to fix this with 3 different dealers (when doing warranty work) and none of them have been able to get this accomplished and the original guy still shows as the registered owner in Harley's system when I show up with the bike.........has anyone else had to deal with this???

Does the recall include 2016 models.

I had an issue right after buying the bike where my shift linkage fell off thus having me burn out the clutch riding her home in 4th gear.
Clutch was replaced so I'm hoping they would have corrected the problem then when they replaced it.

Just got back from Leeds H.D. this afternoon and my clutch is slipping real bad. Called them to discuss and it's not covered under warranty, even though the bike is less than a year old and has only 3,500 miles on the clock. they state it is down to wear and tear. I am 59yrs old and have been riding since i was 13 and have never destroyed a clutch before.

Grosspierre- REQUEST to go to arbitration with the HD District Mgr.
