Was talking to a buddy (Ultra Limited) who went on a trip last week. 80 on the highway and his spring on his kick stand came OFF! Just thinking how much that would Suck not to be able to use your kick stand. He was able to rig it enough to get to Harley to fix.

No, but before I bought my bike I rented one and the shifter fell off in the middle of nowhere, that was fun.

Curious....I took a run to KCMO and took my bike to Harley for a safety check. They found my side stand loose and had to tighten it. Something to take note of?

On a 2015 ???? how the hell can it be loose ?!?!
Did you happen to get their procedure ?

Not sure if your talking about the shifter, but that's not a lock tight problem, it's a threaded bolt vs. A shoulder bolt, the threads wear on the spline. It can fall off and still be torqued to spec.

As for kickstand, never heard of it

I lost my whole shift assembly right after my 1000 mile service.. Talk about pissed!!! Since then I have stripped two.. 2 .. "Dose" shifter splines with what the dealer calls my "power shifting" lead foot.. Bs. Now I am on my third spine and keep an extra in my bags along with extra bolts. All this with about 8600 miles

It was the shift peg for me. Been up and down the Mountain all day and felt it was coming lose and spinning.. My bad for not stopping.

Imagine the damn kickstand hanging down on its own digging into the street ? .... Holy crap....

I saw this happen back in the 80s the guy left his kickstand down and went into a left hand turn and the kickstand hit the road and pitched him into a pole died on the spot.
