I have never been big on security systems but with this bike I wanted something more than rotor locks. So I did a little research and a lot of reading and settled on HD's offerings. I went with the add on "Smart security" and siren/pager. The P/N's were as follows 68300-07A, "smart security module" which replaces the T/S module. 68328-06A, "Smart siren". 91660-06, pager. It took a couple trys but I finally have it up and running as advertized. My take on it is it will no doubt keep someone from pushing/carrying the bike off, or at least I will know it is in progress and they will be somewhat deaf. It will not keep a thief from stealing saddlebags or anything else attached to the bike, unless they first stand the bike up. For the $400 I have invested, not counting the gas to ride back and forth 3 times to the dealer, I feel it was a good investment. The pager range is actually better than HD claims. I hope to do a lot of, at least overnight, trips next summer so the peace of mind when in a hotel/motel will be well worth it.

My bike had the Harley Security system installed, but I went ahead and added the Radio Shack siren mod to it. I was amazed at just how LOUD that little thing is AND it cost me under $10 to complete.

I originally was going to do the Radio Shack mod as well, but I wanted the pager so ended up using the HD siren which is required for the pager to function.

Did you do the install yourself? If so, I assume you had to have the dealership reflash the ecm to acknowledge the security system? How much did they charge for the labor?

I have a pretty good relationship with my dealer, they did not charge me to install and flash the system. It really was plug and play and didn't take anymore than 15min to install, I let them have the original turn signal module as I didn't want it any more.

The reason I ask, is that I bought the system for my Rocker, and installed it myself......not as easy, since you have to remove the rear fender to get to the module.....but once installed, the bike wouldn't start. That's when I learned about the ECM reflash. So now I gotta push this thing up in to the trailer and haul it to the dealer for that....and I'm sure they'll try to gouge me on the price.

Any idea why when I added siren its not marking any noise? I plugged it in shook the bike and lights flash but no siren or chirps.

and I do have security and the fob.

To get it to really make noise you have to piss it off good. Stand it up or turn the key on and all hell breaks loose. I think HD thought the system out well, they didnt want it to go crazy if someone just bumps into your bike, but did want them to know what will happen if the continue messing with it.
