heat deflectors

A few months ago I saw an Electra Glide with what I found out are called mid frame air deflectors. I think they should be called heat deflectors since they push the hot engine air away from your legs. But I guess Harley doesn't like to talk about heat issues.......Anyway I found out they are stock on the Electra Glides but not on the Streetglides. Having experienced a little "warmth" in that area when stuck in traffic, I looked into them. Harley does sell them but I also found this place on line that seemed to sell a better version. Instead of plastic, its aluminum with the same vinyl material as the seat stretched over it. The photos look a lot nicer (cleaner) than the OEM ones. So I ordered them yesterday. Has anyone heard of this place? The guy is a Veteran, makes them himself, only uses USA products. Below is the link, I'm interested to see if anyone has them. And hopefully has good things to say about them since I already bought them

I have a Harley set but I took them off because I don't like the looks of them hiding the engine on a Street Glide. AND, that heat has to go somewhere so my guess is the engine runs hotter with them installed. I removed the cat in the exhaust to cut down on heat.

A. I tried the that websites various pages and could never see the actual product.
B. I have the HD deflectors and they work!

I received the heat deflectors today and installed them. Very easy and fast installation. Mojo said he couldn't see a photo of them on the web site so I attached a photo before install and a few after. They are different size with the right one larger since that's the side the pipes are on and more heat deflection is needed. I think they look good, the vinyl pattern matches the OEM seat perfectly and looks like an extension of the seat. Since its a little chilly here in NJ, it will be awhile before I test them out to see if they decrease the heat on my thighs. But at the moment I'm happy, at least they look different than any I've seen on other bikes.SUNP0045.jpgSUNP0046.jpgSUNP0047.jpg

I like the look of those. What material are they? Do you have a link of where you got them?

FJH- They look good, you'll appreciate them in the summer months !

Great, thanks! For the price, I need to do some summer riding first, though!

Those are sweet.....sounds expensive but maybe it's just me, don't get me wrong I'd like to have them as we do have lots of heat here but I struggle with the price!

paul.....yes they were a little pricey but they had a 20% off sale on ebay so I got them for $112. The Harley ones that mojo has that I was looking to buy were $80 for the deflectors and another $60 for the chrome trim. So I figure I saved money......at least that's how I justified the purchase to my wife :)

Plus since they come stock on the electra glides, Ultras, I think they should come stock on the streetglides. If Harley thinks they are needed on those touring models, then why not the streetglides too. so rather than reward Harley for that decision and give them more of my money, I liked giving my money to a military veteran who uses only USA products.
