I joined this forum to read and learn from owners that have a bike that I Have allot of interest in.. I have been on a bike since I was 5 and well over the years soon as I turned 16 I got my motorcycle endorsement. I have had many many street bikes mostly either Honda or Suzuki. My current bike is a 2012 Suzuki hyabusa which I love.
At any rate I have always wanted a harley so a few years ago I decided I would build one and I did a fat boy replica to make a long story short when I got towards the end of the build I ran out of money and ended up with a 6 speed trans with a 1994 (80) cubic inch motor first time ever on a harley and I was beyond disappointed the bike couldn't even get out of its own way ughhhh
I realize owning a harley is completely a different ride then the other non Harleys on the street.
My question is this....what year street glide would you suggest I start looking at that has a bigger motor and possibly fuel injection with out buying brand new?
What years did they make the motor change
Thank you

Welcome from Reno, NV

First off... let go of the the notion that you can feel the same rush of your Busa with a streetable Harley... ain't gonna happen. That being said... try and imagine slowing down and enjoying the ride itself without the rush of 13000 rpms screaming thru an inline 4 1400cc motor.

You have to realize that you are comparing apples to oranges. I came from the cafe' world and felt the same way you do ( at first ). I learned to enjoy the ride for what it is.... relaxing and comfortable.

Look into the 14's as Hulkss suggested... they have been greatly improved over the 13's with many features worth the look.

I really miss the cornering ability of my old rocket. But the street glide is so much nicer to ride.

Welcome aboard from Nashville, TN . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Years of engine displacement changes:
2007 increased from 88ci to 96ci and added 6 speed transmission
2011-12 (depending on model) increased to 103ci
2014 updated 103ci to high output 103

With the 2015's out now you can get a really good deal on a 2014 and BTW, new is easier to finance and usually has a smaller interest rate than used/pre-owned.

I agree with the others. 2014 is the way to go. I looked at the 2013's last Aug and ended up with a BMW 1600GTL instead. Fast forward 8 months and I sold BMW for my 14 SGS because of all the changes that were made. It's a great bike and great to sit and relax and enjoy what's around you instead of watching a dotted line become solid.

Welcome, I too would recommend a '14. Dealers have these at discounted prices to make room for the '15, just might take a bit of work to find a color you like.
