2014 SGS purchased in 12/13. I have never updated the 6.5 audio system until today. Now my phone (iPhone 6plus) won't blue tooth stream to the radio. It wouldn't be an issue but that is how I stream my music. The dealership did the update!! Anyone have this issue!!!

Try a pre-cal reset

Turn your RUN button ON.... PRESS AND HOLD your MUTE button on the radio

Turn your IGN to ON... WAIT for the confirmation msg... CONFIRM and release the MUTE button.

Scroll down to pre-cal reset

Dealership did my update today. My flash drive quit working and my iPhone would not Bluetooth to radio. When I got home, I unplugged the flash drive, turned radio off, then turned off the ignition switch. Let the bike sit without any power on for a few minutes the turned ign back on, turned on radio, then plugged flash drive back in and everything is working again.

Since the last Apple update I have to open iTunes manually and tap on a song to get it to play. It syncs fine just won't play automatically.

I've noticed since my last update, MOST of the time when I start the bike it defaults to the radio and I have to go back thru the steps to get the media to play. Irritating since I don't have any radio stations tuned because I don't like any of the stations. Before this latest flash, it would start with what was playing when I shut the bike down.

I ran into the same issue when flashing to 1.19.1 on my SGS 6.5 Gt. After the update could not connect to Bluetooth. I tried everything with no luck. Out of frustration ... Just deleted phone from menu and re paired.. Worked just fine.. I made sure I was up to date with Apple (trust me.. If you use apple product YOU MUST UPDATE!!!!. Hate it but stuff will stop working if you don't) then deleted bike from phone Bluetooth devises.. Rebooted both bike and phone .. Repaired and all was good..

This just happened to mine 2 days ago, and I have never updated the radio. Just happened for no apparent reason. Before it would almost always default to the last source used. Sometimes it would fail to default back to the flash drive and would default to XM. I'm mostly on the flash drive, sometimes XM. Never the radio.

Now, most of the time when I start the bike it defaults to the lowest AM station. It got so annoying I tried shutting it off but it still tried to default to AM when restarting the bike.

Bluetooth streaming has never worked reliably. I think I got it to pair once back when I first got the bike. When I go to media, my iPhone shows up on the list. When I select it, it displays "Waiting to connect". If I open Bluetooth on the iPhone, the bike does not appear as an available device.

If it were not for the nav feature I would have ditched this POS radio.

Hmmm ... Finally got to test radio, bluetooth, nav on a long overnight bike camping trip with a buddy. Everything worked flawless! It does revert back to FM radio though instead of last input selection, but finds the phone pretty quickly (iphone 6).

Doubt it matters, but put in Hogtunes speakers and amp right when new (can hear easily with helmet/plugs in at 75+ at 1/2 volume now). I would say the quality is only marginally better though on radio, bit better on high quality inputs, but WAY louder and without distortion. I was very careful to get a good seal of the speakers/enclosures when I installed (even used a bead of silicone around). Those were a PITA to do for sure.

These systems sure have a mind of their own. With the latest update, my radio starts with the last FM channel I listened to then always switches to memory stick. Not a big deal just crazy sheet LOL.

I remember seeing a kit to remove the 6.5 radio amd install a different head unit. If I can find a head unit that has nav built in, I might do it. My biggest gripe is that you can't a dust the EQ...other than bass and treble. The system uses an EQ file and it drops bass out the faster you go. I NEED MORE BASS when I go faster, not less. The system sounds awesome sitting still with the engine shut off. When you start the engine, the EQ map changes, then it keeps changing the faster you go.

The HD shop says, "No, it doesn't change. That wouldn't make sense. It's my imagination." It does change and all I want is for it to not change. That shouldn't be too much to ask, but when I do ask, I get the deer-in-the-headlight look. They have no idea what I'm talking about.

"Metra" makes a kit that's around 240 bucks. It comes with a small lcd module so you can still monitor your etms, oil pressure, etc. you still have to purchase a single DIN head unit. But they sell units with retractable screens so you can retain GPS unit that is built in.

I don't do Boombox updates anymore, skipped the last two and don't miss the headaches they cause!

That's the one I was thinking of. Cycle Sounds has it put together is a kit...

If anyones interested in going this route I may have something they may like. I have a Navibox 1 and a Soundstream VIR-7870NRB that would work. I bought this for my Corvette and had it less than a year before I pulled it to sell the car. I don't know what its worth but I'll certainly entertain any PM offers. You can google for descriptions of the units. Here's a pic of the display...
