Well this last week I picked up the last of the powder coating (this season anyways). Had the front turn signals done, new fork fangs, and new bag guards. Had the floor boards done and some misc parts also. Painted my fork sliders and license plate bracket and HD led bag lights. I was able to use the factory mounting holes after I drilled a couple of holes in that Yaffe plate. It almost covers the hole for the factory wiring harness. I'm gonna make a rubber gasket and let it be proud about a 1/16th" and that should do it. Still have to get some juice to the plate light, working on that. I have plasma rods I'm gonna install and that should do it for the rear end. Put the CD led rings in the front turns and really like them, nice upgrade for 80 bucks. Wrapped the bag reflector with CF vinyl, got the stuff for the dash, console insert, and AC insert. Some little thing left but nothing that will take her out of service. Of coarse next winter will be here before you know it and then..................................

Looking awesome good job on the black out look. Haven't done much to my bike but ride it lately so I better get back at it soon. Have some little parts ordered and some sitting in boxes waiting for some attention.

Looks awesome. Love the air cleaner in black. Thinking about painting mine black.

Farmboy- your bike is looking slick. I think I might like you powder coated side stand the most.
Are you having any trouble wiring the PYS3?

NICE !
Those fork reflectors look out of place though ; )
Not bad mouthing just a gentle suggestion.

Get on your bad motor scooter and ride

I'm not sure where to draw the juice from. Maybe tap into the plasma rods when I install them or get a new connector for the out side of the tribal and just use the leads from that.

farmboy- that CF cover looks great and would match my dash perfectly.
re: side ways pics. If you use a MAC, you can turn and save with the Preview App
On a PC you used to be able to turn and save with the Paint program.

Does the PYS3 just have wire ends, or a plug end? I assume that you would be able to connect straight to the wires that were powering the turn signal bar. Since you removed the turn signal bar, you should still have wires running from the tribar lights. That bunch of wires should have a lead for the license plate light- I'd have to pull my shop manual out to check the color combination.
I ran the plasma rod wires forward and tapped their connections under the seat.

Mandrew,
The yaffe plate came with 2 wires conected to a Deutsch DT2 plug. Only got the female side. I thought about canabalizing the stock harness plug and plate light leads and put a Deutsch male conector on the 2 of them and call it good. But I thought the stock harness and assembly might have some value. So today I ordered from the dealer the stock tribar connector half that I would need and I think I have enough lead on the plate to cut off the Deutsch connector and run the wires to that. I would only be using 2 holes of a 12 point connector but I think it might be a neater installation. I can plug the remaining holes to keep the weather out. On a side note both the wires that run from the stock connector to the stock license plate light are black. Aren't black wires suppose to be grounds? Also thanks for the pos comment on the bike.

I agree- black wires are supposed to be grounds.
The wiring diagram in the service manual shows eight wires- but you're right- it is 2 black wires in 7 and 11 for the license plate lamp. Interesting.
