Hi I'm looking to do the Hidden Antenna on my 2018 but wanting to get some feedback regarding its reception.

Or if the shorty is a better way to go.

or if there are other options you guys are doing

thanks in advance!!

I have not tried the hidden antenna, but I switched out the long one for a "stubby". Cost $25 and I get good reception on local broadcasts!!

I installed the HD hidden antenna, and reception was horrible, a customer gave me a stubby one, it's about 3 inches long, works way better.

Have the in the fairing hidden antenna and it's not that good unless your with a few miles of the station. Save your money and do the under the seat along the fender one it seems to work the best.

Thank you everyone!
TomA would you happen to have a brand or model#?

Used existing antennae as Tom suggested and rerouted under fender and seat.
Works great in my area.

I use the HD Shorty antenna which has about the same reception as the whip. There is a tab on the mount that can be bent slightly to lower the angle of the antenna so it clears a luggage rack. In the photo below the new shorty is mounted at the new lower angle and I'm holding the OEM whip at the factory angle for comparison.

I don't have the model number sorry. It's the Harley hidden antenna and I had it installed when I bought my bike back in 14. Salesmen's suggestion. I very seldom use the radio as I use Ipod's and jump drives sticks with music on them. Can't remember the last time I tried it but I have to be in or close to a city to work good. Out where I live radio reception is sketchy at best anyway.

Hello everyone. I actually bought a stubby antenna off Amazon, for half the price of the Harley stubby, and it works just as good as the tall factory antenna. Just a thought!

hailo,

I noticed your from the IE in So. Cal. I installed the Big Stick Antenna (purchased from eGlideGoodies.com). It looks great but does not work in the Orange County/LA County area. I guess it really depends on the local area station output. I do get Spanish station:).
If you want to try mine out - drop me a message. The Big Stick sells for $60 so you may want to try one first.

oh man thanks for the offer brother, i deeply appreciate it. I think i will just be staying with stock for awhile

Cravenspeed.com they have a shorty that 2.5 I have on my ultra limited. I have the hidden antenna in my street glide and you have to add the power adapter before it works well.
