I recently had 12" Yaffee Monkey Bars installed by the stealer and i do not like the position they put them in. They are too close because i have very long arms. I want them adjusted forward as close to the fairing i can go. There is plenty of room to go forward.

Do i have to remove the ignition switch and then take off fairing to get access to clamp or just take off ignition switch?

Any help would be appreciated.

I was able to do my bar install without removing my switch. 2 people make the adjustments allot easier.

1. Remove windshield & outer fairing
2. Remove inner fairing mounting screws and fairing skirt
3. Remove switch dash panel screws
4. Pull switch dash panel back and inner fairing forward to get at handlebar clamp
5. Adjust handlebars
6. Reassemble in reverse order.
7. Buy a factory service manual

#7 should be #1....

I appreciate the replies, but I do have a service manual and I do know how to take off fairing. Just didn't know if the ignition switch needed to be removed. Fanx

It's best to remove it.... keeps it safe and out of your way... but can be done in place

Very easy and don't need to remove switch. Takes all of 15 minutes tops to pull outer fairing, turn signals, lower dash and rotate fairing forward.
