how to get the ignition button off

i got a friends road glide that he wanted me to put mini apes on, first step, remove the ignition switch, checked and confirmed to turn to lock push the little button under the switch with a screw driver or finger(if yours is that small) and then turn the key counter clock wise. completed as stated and it pops up less than 1/4" and that's it. can't force it it'll even(the key) turn about 1/2 turn and still not able to remove... check this on my 15 street glide and mine removed within 1/4 turn of the key... anybody else have this happen? need a way to get it out

once you get to the lock position push the key down and twist a tad more counter clockwise. When the "switch"stops then push the release button on the bottom.

Make sure the wheel is turned all the way left.

HA! got it all backward, it is a 03 road glide and not a 09, to remove the switch instead of turning it to lock , turn to acc then turn the key switch ccw and the switch comes right out...huh, imagine that, if your info right you can do it right... thanks for the replies
