Hey everyone this is my first post and I love the site so far but my question is I just bought my first Harley and it is a 2011 Streetglide with the 103 motor and it has 30,000 miles and I bought it from a friend and it is in excellent shape and has always had synthetic fluids and a full service up to date but the miles kinda scare me and should I be concerned or are these motors really good and should I have no worries? Thanks guys

Should have no worries IMO. If it was maintained properly and not had the snot beat out of it after every hit of the starter button, you should be fine. I hear of folks getting to 100,000 miles and having no issues. That is not to say you won't, but, I wouldn't waste time thinking about it.

Welcome to the world of Harley! Short story, I had a 1987 FLHTC that had 235000.(not a typo) miles on it that bike was V2 engine. I just traded a 2003 with 142000. miles, it was a twin cam. Both these bikes I purchased new, myself and my wife used to do around 35-40 k per year, not so much anymore. Age is catching up with us. I can say from my experience that if maintained with oil changes as recommended by Harley that you can expect a large amount of miles on your new bike. I have followed Harleys recommendations for time intervals between changes. obtain a service manual along with a parts manual, they are worth their weight in gold. Off topic, my K1200gt BMW is at 63000 as of last week. Have fun Bagger.

I actually met a guy that is running almost 100K on the original engine so I saw no worries!
