This is my first bike install, I am installing a NVX MVPA4 Micro-V Series 400W RMS 4-Channel Bridgeable Micro Class D and HERTZ HCX 165 6.5" 2-Way Hi-Energy Coaxial Speakers HCX165. Fuel tank removed, 10g wire with fuse link for amp power.

question: instructions indicate install pos and neg wires to corresponding terminals on the battery post, Is this correct? I am only questioning because it seems to me the amp will have continuous power from the battery.

you will have another hot wire that goes to the keyed hot. amp only has power in run or acc.

The keyed hot will be a smaller wire and mine is hooked to the accessory power plug in. This will turn the amp off and on with ignition switch if you don't have one of these you will need a switch to shut it off. Check the other wires coming from the amp you should have a wiring schematic that came with it.

Good luck and happy tunes

Got it, the Amp has a REM on/off terminal and there is a purple and black wire from the cigarette lighter, I will T-tap the Purple wire to the REM on the AMP. Thanks for the help guys.

Additional FYI for anyone- The HERTZ HCX 165 6.5" 2-Way Hi-Energy Coaxial Speakers HCX165 WILL NOT fit in the original OEM location (outside) on the speaker pods and maintain a proper clearance from the stock speaker grill. I mounted inside the POD, the HCX speaker magnet is huge and I had to remove a lot of the pod material leaving a hole in the pods from proper fitment and clearances to allow movement/flexing of the speaker cones.

Another thing people are doing is to trim the back cover of your speaker pod for the speaker to clear, typically at the 10 and 2 position and maybe even where the magnet may stick out the back.

That was exactly what I had to do. The HCX magnet is huge. The new system sounds great and easy on the wallet.

Angel, where did you get those speaker brackets? Did you fab them up yourself? how is the sound and structural support with the back of the pod removed? Looks cool, thx..

Just aluminum pieces used to brace everything secure. These speakers hit hard if they have the air flow and power pushing them. They sounded better without the pod enclosures.

Thanks bro
They will sound a whole lot better because they have the room to breath as long as you match them up with the right power
