Many posts on this and other forums (as well as user reviews on Amazon, etc) rave about Infinity Kappa speakers and these in particular. They are now in my shopping cart on Amazon (as well as a Rockford Fosgate T400X4AD Power Series 4-channel 400 watt amp and install kit). I have a 14 SGS with 2-ohm HD speaker lid 5x7 speakers that I can't hear past 35 mph. The amp will power the old saddlebag speakers and these as well. I considered upgrading the lid speakers but I already get too much water in the bags with the factory setup and will leave it be for now.

Anyhow, these Infinity Kappa speakers are NOT listed as water resistant, proof, or marine grade but many people seem to be buying them for the front faring (as am I) and/or other locations on the bike. I know they have marine grade speakers but those don't seem to be as desirable or mentioned as often.

Here are my questions:

Do you have these or any speakers on your bike that are not water proof/marine grade?

If so, do you have or did you have issues with them because of rain or washes?

If so, would you buy these again?

Thanks!

Oh, by the way, I just ordered a new rear tire and am gearing up for my 3rd trip to Sturgis!!!

Well if your on your way to Sturgis you may want to stop by the Soundz tent in Rapid city at the Harley dealership. He has water proof speakers that sound really good. I have them in 5x7's and they don't leak in my bags.

I'm at Sturgis but EVERYTHING has changed. I took my 2014 in to Bosswell's HD in Nashville to get a new rear tire prior to my trip to Sturgis and when I came back to pick up my bike I wound up buying a 2018 Streetglide in Salt Denim (white) I've already bought the Rockford Fosgate amp and since i no longer have any 2 ohm saddlebag lid speakers to deal with I decided to go to a 4 ohm speaker. I did not have time prior to Sturgis to buy anything but figured I get the Polk MM652 for the fairing. Many said Hertz and Focal are the best but these have good number and reviews and are water proof and well priced. If I ever get saddlebag lid speakers again, already have the amp for them and have more options in 4 ohm than I did with the factor 2 ohm.

I stoppped by the Rockford Fosgate and JL booths but passed Soundz by. My research found Soundz and JL to be overpriced. Iistened to JL's speakers and they were very loud but the quality of sound did not do it for me. Rockford's were very loud too. I have never heard Polks but I am not too concerned.

I ordered the Polk's on Amazon. I've learned a lot from other HD forums and some from this one too. This is the only forum I post on so maybe Ill do a write up once I get everything installed.

I'll miss the lid speakers but not the leaking. Ill pass on the HD lid speaker setup next time, if I ever get more. Rockford said theirs won't leek
