These caps can be a challenge to put on. The tolerance is tight. I would like to contribute how I installed the HD Rocker Box Chrome caps Part #43868-99 and the socket head screw cover part #94830-02.
I used deep socket that fit within the clips to dilate the fitting. I left the socket in a few minutes and I would remove the socket just before installing. The caps went on much easier without a struggle. I also applied a very light coat of anti-seize so that the cap can be removed easier should some corrosion occur under the cap.
