It feels like a new bike again

I posted my dyno results in the past somewhere on here. Was fairly happy with it being new to me and all. The more I rode I started to realize that maybe I made a bad choice in the Stage IV kit. It just didn't have the low end that I wanted. I spend a lot of time on the bike with my wife siting behind me so I dont want above 3K at all times to be a must. Torque just wasn't there until 3.5K and didn't feel "good" until about 4K.

Then the sound of the D&D with the perforated baffle began to wear on me. Took the bike and a louvered baffle to the dealer. Got told some cockamamie story on how they were losing so much HP and TQ. I told them to put the perforated baffle back in and I would come pick it up.

Fast forward to now. I have since moved form SC to IL. Found a nice little shop not even 10 minutes from where I live now. Hear good things about it. Decide to give it a try. Take the louvered baffle and bike in and tell him what I want done. Not expecting a lot because of the results I saw from working with the dealer. Hoped I would pick up a little low end with the baffle change. Got the call yesterday and what Jason told me got my heart racing but, I didn't want to get too excited. Went in today to pick the bike up. Jason shows me the dyno sheet and I just grinned. FINALLY this thing is where I thought it should be from the start. Not only does the torque feel a ton better, it actually feels and runs smoother by a long shot.

Not bashing dealer tuners. I know there are some GREAT ones out there, they are just hard to find and are at times required to do this or that; or not allowed to do some things because of working where they work. For my money, I will stick with local shops that can and will take the time to do things right.

Atttached are the sheets. Dealer tuned and C&S Tuned.

SE Stage IV Kit with 259e Cam
D&D Fat Cat with Louvered baffle (perforated baffle on dealer tune)
Tuned with SEPST

No lie, the difference to me in the seat is night and day.

Tom O- thanks for posting. I've been thinking about taking my bike to C&S speed shot based upon some feedback posted on other forums.
Enjoy the ride...

This is so true....there are guys out there that can do wonders, the guy that did my other bike is one of them, he moved to CA so I got disconnected from him. Dealers & product support folks are not very helpful and to me they don't know much therefore they can't help. I am sure if they know they will be helping buyers gain all the power one can handle so they sell their product like hot cakes.

I am working with another shop now and he seems to have the latest Dyno equipment with latest software so he can Dyno a bike half of the time with maximum power. Except I have purchased FP3 and I am stuck, if not I am sure I will jump on Dynojet tuner and my bike would be pushing more HP than what V&H can ever imagine.....but I was told by the shop to stay tuned as they are trying to work with V&H software on their Dyno computer....I am hoping they can get it to work so my bike can be tuned with a bit more HP.

In my opinion and with the results I got I would say it would be worth the money and time. Obviously I had a crap tune in it so getting it tuned properly made a huge difference. YMMV

I have heard nothing but good about C&S and will definitely go back when I need anything else done.
