So I took the Glide in for 20k service today. For the first time ever they put replace air filter on the work order. I questioned it and had them take it off because I put a K&N replacement on there in April of 2015. She has been serviced one other time since then.

The tech brought out a Harley filter and asked me what he wanted me to do with it. The K&N is gone and I am out $60 or so.

They understand what most likely happened and are going to comp the new stock filter at least. They said to remind them next time that I have a K&N in there if I put in a new one.

I never thought a tech would miss the K&N red filter. Oh well. Can't do anything about it or prove it. At least the dealership is trying to make it right.

Yep, that's why they put the sticker in the K&N box. I always put it on the filter or housing.

Techs are not always alert.

They (almost) did the same to me. Took her in for tires and the writer comes out. "your air filter is really dirty!" I knew it was. "we can change it for you for $$" I say it's a K&n washable and he offers to clean it for $. I had already put the sticker on the filter that says something along the lines of 'stop! Don't toss this, it's reusable' so it makes me wonder how they can see the filter is dirty without seeing the sticker.
