Took the Wife out yesterday day for first ride on the SGS.. Had a good time but the WHINE FROM THE REAR was horrible . She HATES. The stock seat.
Anyone know the HD part# for the "ultra" seat?. I'm considering that , harley hammock or Mustang touring.. Unsure about heat. Plenty pf that in Florida, but would be nice when in the mountains..
Any info and or opinions appreciated...

My wife had the same complaint. So I got a new seat and have not heard any more complaint from her. It does have heat. This past weekend I rode a RG with the stock seat and I couldn't believe how hard it felt now that I'm use to my new seat.

It is the 2015 RG CVO seat, has heat (the heat is awesome). It is pricey though. Best price was from New Castle Harley to my door. Part number is 52000175.

BTW, if you get a heated seat you will need that extra harness to connect to the aux port under the left side cover.

Cool... Thanx for the info

I purchased a 52000033 Seat, FLHTCU ( same as ULTRA), about $275 bucks if recall. huge improvement for passenger, the price is right comparatively, it will put the driver a little more forward (inch or so), but it should stop the whining noise in the rear. My wife has a plate in her back, she approved this seat.

Rhsra- I looked seriously at the Hammock seat but could not justify the cost for as little as my wife rides. I did pickup a new takeoff Ultra seat for $175. All is well now . . . .

Agree on the hammock.. Seems very overpriced..think I'm leaning toward ultra seat.. I like them and think it will do nicely

I also picked up an Ultra take-off, and my backseat noise was all positive! With a passenger backrest on you don't really notice the extra large seat back there.

What was the part # to this takeoff Ultra seat you all are talking about and where did you purchase it? I'm looking into changing our seat as well. We had a brutal ride back last weekend with the stock seat. Thanks in advance.

I got mine off e-bay, any of the 2009 and newer fit. Now, it is a little taller than a SG seat, so you might want an Ultra Low seat if you don't want to sit any higher. They both have the same passenger pad.

I've got the Hammock (non-heated) seat on my 2015 FLHXS. I absolutely love it. It takes away from the low profile look a bit but it more than makes up for it in all day riding comfort. Easily the best upgrade I did to my bike. I do a lot of longer single day/multi-day rides so comfort is important. 600 mile days are not too uncommon for me. No regrets yet!

After putting on 200 miles yesterday.. The need for a better seat is even more evident.. Stock was fine for short trips.. But I will be taking much longer trips soon and need to protect my A$$... Literally.. Lol...
