I have an 08 street glide with an 09 front wheel. So a 130/80/r17 and a 140/85/r16 right?
These whole mu mt tire sizes are messing me up.

Can i go up a size and get away with it if possible?
There arent very many size options when it comes to these bike tires are there?
This is the first time i have really dug into tires for bikes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have the sizes right, however, you should use bias ply tires.
You may be able to use a 150/80 in the back.

From Dunlop:
Bias and radial tires have significantly different dynamic properties. They deflect differently, create different cornering forces, have different damping characteristics, as well as other differences. In order for radial tires to be introduced into the two-wheel market, it was necessary to change certain characteristics of the motorcycle. The introduction of the radial tire led to such things as modified frames, wider wheels, new steering geometries and suspensions. Therefore, it is recommended that a motorcycle be used with the type of tire construction that it came with originally. If a change is to be made, then it should only be done if the motorcycle or tire manufacturer has approved the change. Above all, do not mix bias ply and radial tires on the same motorcycle unless it is with the approval of the motorcycle or tire manufacturer.

Ok so the article you posted the link to is a little contradictory. It says the radials last longer, have a better feeling of the road and handling but say the bias tires handle more weight but less heat.
All in all it said i should stick with what came on my bike.
And also cannot vary sizes either.
So what do you guys recommend for an aggressive riding style with an flhx?
I dont by any means ride like a crotch rocket but i do like to throw it in a corner once in a while. Also im a little heavy on the throttle especially out of the hole so traction is a must.
