Hey gang I’m new here and looking for some help. I have an 06 Street Glide and just had an S&S 510G gear kit and cam put in last fall and just got the bike out for the first time today and noticed my MPG is horrible, got around 19mpg. anyone know if this makes sense or have this issue before and what did you do to if anything to get the MPG back up. I didn’t think this was that big of a cam change from factory and surely did expect the fuel Economy to drop that bad

You're going to have to tune the motor. The new cam has changed the motor's air fuel ratio. This will require a tuner of some sort and a dyno tune session.

Yeah... tune is a must with the cam change....once its dialed in she will be good to go.

I know the shop tapped in to the power commander and did something with the fuel mixture and said they leaned it out some but also said he didn't want to make it to lean as well. What kind of fuel economy are you getting an what cam are you running

I have a 120ST crate motor.... 259 cams, 58mm throttle body and run a Power Vision Tuner and Target Tune Wideband O2 module. Jamie Long of Fuel Moto set my entire system up and I get 42 on the hwy and 38 in the city.

You need to have it dyno tuned and set up right.... or at least auto-tuned if you have that capability with the PC...

Buy the Auto Tune for your Power Commander. That will make the necessary adjustments as you ride. Another option is to get your bike on a dyno and properly tune it.

Thanks for the input, I like the idea of the auto tuner unfortunately I have the power commander lll and I didn't see that being an option unless I go with the newer power commander V. But I did set up to have it put on a dyno next so hopefully that does the trick
