Lowering Blocks vs Lower Shocks

I've graduated from a 2009 Sporster 1200 to 2015 Street Glide. I would like to lower it and I had the seat shaved (which lowered me about 1''). I know there is a difference between Lowering Blocks and Lower Shocks but coming from a Sporster would I even notice the difference

I have white brothers lowering kit on the rear of my 2012. They move thr rear shock back a bit and change the angle. Think they were around $100 bucks, dont remember for sure. Have almost 10,000 miles on them, have made two trips to Arkansas from montana and colorado with no problems.

Let us know what you think.
When I first heard about lowering blocks, I assumed that the blocks forced the shock to collapse in order to give a lower ride height- that is wrong. The lowering blocks simply change the mounting point of the stock shock. You still get the full range of support from your suspension (with a slight decrease in overall vertical rebound because of the new angle) but it still probably has a larger range of dampening and rebound than a shock that is an inch shorter.
