Ok - so this is perhaps an old debate, but I need some advice. I'm 5'11" with a ~32" inseam. I like the position of the stock seat on my '17 SGS, but I'm looking to buy a Mustang touring seat so the wife can ride. The Mustang site indicates that the Wide Touring is 17" wide vs. 19" for the Super Touring. My understanding is that the Super also puts you back 1.75", but that this is in relation to the Ultra seat, not the Glide seat - which already puts you back ~1.5". My concern is with the width difference. Straddling at a stop light sometimes gives me cramps in the front of my hips with my stock seat. (How wide is our stock seats?) Does anyone have any experience (& pics) they can share between these two Mustang seats?

I thought I could show you some different pictures of the Wide tripper, but I only found the 1. I got it because it moved me back, I'm 6-3.

Looks good! Off topic but I notice you've got bag speakers. That's my next project. Any insight to share there?

Don't want to Thread Jack, but since its your Thread I guess its fine!! ;)

I bought Harley lids and Grills because I was concerned that the Morco Gold metallic wouldn't match. At the time it was a new color. I bought them from one of the discount HD on line dealers, I can't remember if it was Boardtracker (Their new name now) or Surdyke. It was my 1st experience that you get what you are buying and only that from Harley. I had to buy the 8 rubber seal bushings, and the 16 screws (4 for the grill, 4 for the speaker) for around 50 bucks!!! I bought a 4 speaker/amp up grade from J&M which came with all of the plug and play, then went to town. Takes about an hour to change over all of the bag hardware and weather seals and drill the hole for the cable entrance. Be sure to tape the surfaces before you drill. The J&M harness even included the boot for the penetration on the harness. The stereo and wire harness installation took about 4 hours.

I like that the J&M and others have a 4 channel amp so you don't loose any bag space for another amp like the HD up grades. every 2 speaker up grade adds another amp for the Boom set up.

Hope that helps - Let me know if you need more.

Really appreciate the info! Might circle back with a question or two when I get closer to mod time. :)

I have the wide tripper as well. I had to send it to MeanCityCycles to be altered though. The cushion at the tailbone is very uncomfortable. As far as the lids go, I also have the HD ones. I removed the Boom speakers, and went with Infinity Kappas. Cutting the baskets are a huge PIA! So, if you're going to alter them, go all the way. Put the VTwin adapters in to use 6x9's. Here's mine with the Kappas. They're 6x8's and do not fit without serious modifications. But again, VTwin audio, has an adapter to be able to fit them in. I just didn't know about it until after.
