My custom Gopro mount w/ test video(s)

Thanks Gunner for the pictures of the HOGTAG, as I was looking at that one but the pictures on their website kinda suck.

I like the way you're creating your own Spazz as that costs a lot less, but I've already got chrome lowers and worried that the stainless would scratch them. Kind of why I like the HOGTAG with what looks to be a rubber grommet that would protect the chrome lowers. I will look forward to your next update as I am still on the fence of what I want to do with my GoPro.

Thanks.

That looks really good and can't wait to see the video from V/C later. Thinking this may be the best spot for a camera

You can get a rubber shield for the hose clamps... I just didn't get them yet as this was a test and so far... I'm liking it...

GUNNER,

you gave me the idea for my mount with the HogTag... just could not see spending all that...

Where do you get the foam backed stainless from? Is there another word for it? - UPDATE... NEVERMIND.... You probably just used foam tape and a piece of stainless....

Thanks for sharing this technique!

nice video. I saw 3 citations though, 1 truck parked on the wrong side of the street and the others were not stopping at stop signs. lol
one question...what was the clunking sound from over bumps?
HOLY CRAP!!! you scared me!!! cuz I'm sitting here drinkin a Corona right now!!! Thought you tapped into my web cam.... LOL!!!!

Anyway..... here is the video

48fps and MEDIUM Field of View.... completely raw footage and no editing....

EDIT:

HOLY CRAP!!! What a degradation of video quality that YouTube displays..... on my 55" TV.... it's 1080P HD and VIVID... that looks like crap.... gonna have to find a better server....

I can't remember what the clunk was... lol.

If all I did was a few rolling stops and parked my truck the wrong way... I'm doing way better!

Like the mount Spazz.

I had to break down and buy the Hogtag, what convinced me was the Touring Package he offered, i love the idea of the "battery eliminator" cable, with those fancy USB plugs we just installed it should work just tits. The Hero4 eliminator comes with the large back door for the eliminator unit.

I personally talked to Mark, he seems like a great guy, he was very helpful in explaining how the eliminator works for the hero4.

After trying to track down the perfect sized turbo style clamp for holding the mount, then cutting the large piece of stainless i have, then buying stainless wire to weld it together with (or taking it to my buddy to have it tigged) i will be money ahead IMO. I would usually craft one similar to yours, but that battery eliminator was the perfect kicker for me to just pull the trigger.
