I'm looking at buying a Street Glide next year, sometime around May to July time frame. First off when will the info on the 2017's be out, so I could see if there will be any changes done between the 16's vs 17's. And when will the 2017's hit the dealerships?

If you had a decision to make between buying new or used. And you had $25k to buy your bike, would you buy brand new or buy a used bike?
 
You won't see the 17's until September or October. Not sure when they will start talking about them but don't see too many changes after the last update. Now you have some really good 14's and 15's coming up for sale with lot's of upgrades at pay off cost's. Have seen 5 or 6 on here just this years guys having kids and buying new houses need to unload there bikes.
 
I bought my '14 from the rental fleet (November, 2014) and got a steal on the price. It was "new" yet had 8,000 miles with excellent service. I have almost 21,000 since I bought it and the only thing that went wrong was the shifter shaft stripped and had to be replaced. It still has the OEM tires. It was almost half what a new bike would cost...
 
If you would consider buying used, you should really find Spazz on this forum and talk to him. If he still has his Street Glide it would be a hell of a deal I am sure.
 
Since ALL the CVO's this year have the water heads, likely all the 17's will be going that direction. Since nearly nobody leaves their bike stock, getting a rental fleet bike would be a great start at a great price.

I always buy used but look for low mileage. I have gotten some rediculous deals on low mileage used vehicles including bikes with full warranties over the years. Look around a bit and compare dealer test ride bikes and rentals to new bikes and your bound to find a nice affordable ride. Put the extra cash towards mods.
 
I bought my 2014 used with 2K miles on it. It was 3 months old and had a 5 year Harley extended warranty, upgraded seat, docking hardware and a sundowner seat and about $500 in other extras and I saved about $6K over the best deal I could get at the local dealer and about $10K off the retail value of everything.

Just remember EVERY bike is a used bike the second it rolls past the dealers driveway................including the new one someone just bought yesterday and a couple of years from now it will not matter a bit. :D

I bought my 2000 Dyna Convertible from the rental fleet with 2200 miles and it's my buddy is still driving it and not a single problem in the last 15 years !!
 
If the 17's don't come out till September. I'll probably buy a 16 or a used one. And I agree I have found some very nice used bikes. Will probably lean towards buying a used bike an use the extra cash for other custom parts.

I do have my eye on 2 used bikes now. But they will probably sell before my bonus comes in next year

For the last few years, lineup announcements have been occurring in August, and CARB reports are usually available in the months preceding the official HD announcement.
 
Only way I'll wait on a 17, is if they change out the motor to a bigger one.

And Spazz I love the stereo you have on your bike. That will be one of the first things I buy for the bike. I love my tunes
