New amp install-water concerns?

I just installed new amp and fairing speakers (Thanks Karl @ No Cage). I closed everything up before I remembered to ask the question. Those that have added an amp-did you add any plastic sheet or anything over the amp and wiring as added protection for water intrusion around the fairing vent, etc? The amp I used has the power terminals facing upward on the side of the amp. Should I take fairing back off and add something? Thanks!

I velcroed a flexible plastic cutting board I bought at a dollar store to the top of the amp and ziptied it to the edge of the radio so any water would run off past the amp. This was a recommendation from a guy who does HD audio. I got water in mine last year so yes it happens
