For those of you new to the Street Glide Boombox radio and updating, firmware here's the quick and easy way:
Get a 8G USB stick (or larger) that has no files on it.
Download the Zip file from Harley website and unzip it.
It will unzip as a folder titled swdl_boombox xxxxxx.
Open it and you'll see a .txt file and an .iso file.
Drag ONLY the .iso file to your USB stick.
Turn your SG ignition to Accessory and make sure radio is on.
After you get past the "Accept" screen, plug in USB stick.
It will prompt you the rest of the way. It takes about 7 minutes to upload.

Did you see the other thread about this update Mojo ?

I'm going to give it one more try if unsuccessful I'll leave it as is for now.

Dont know what the deal is but its updating now.

Did the same thing earlier today with no success but its working this time.

Flatlander, Its a big file - I have seen this procedure fail IF the USB stick is not formatted correctly. I had zero problems following my instructions in my earliest post.
 
Yep I was able to get mine updated in like 10 minutes, download, copy to usb and updated on bike. Not to see if the proof is in the pudding to see if they really did make changes or advances... :)
 
They didn't add very much- I was hoping for improvements on the NAV
 
Nav and Bluetooth headset profiles would have been nice

Although it's not mentioned on Harley's site, you can now download using a Mac or a PC. Today I had no issues using the Mac and it downloaded much quicker at home. Last time I used a PC at work and was much slower. Just remember to remove or delete the older file from your USB stick, (xxxx.ISO) Good Luck!

Lost my maps with this upgrade seems with a certain nav version it happens HD already knows Prob another update soon

Did you lose ALL maps or just the destination info stored on the unit? I didn't lose anything when I updated.
 
All I had was a blank green page. Looked like I was in the middle of a corn field (which is partly true). Tried reinstalling the update to no avail. Looked at the other thread on here and ended up going back to the last version which fixed it for me.
 
Yep same here. Flash 1.17.1 or go to the dealer to fix. If anyone with 1.17.1 could post it would be nice I wiped mine off the USB and won't do that again.

I have 1.17.4 but its too big to post. Can you stop by the dealer for a "warranty fix"? Dang-that's just crazy!! I wonder why it works for some and not others?

G Drive works. Its a certain Nav version that the maps disappear btw

Thanks MOJO. I am having a "performance" issue (poor fm reception). Maybe the "performance" enhancement will fix this?
