Hello,
Haven't pulled the trigger yet on a SGS. I've owned a couple of ultra limiteds in the past and have been hoping go get back to a Harley touring bike. About a year and a half ago (for reasons that I won't bore you with), I sold my limited a bought a BMW R1200RT. RT is a great bike, but has no soul...just not attached to it. Sounds dumb, but it's the truth. I got the RT for it's touring ability and excellent wind protection.

I was strongly considering a Rushmore RG Special, but as of yesterday that has changed. I have test ridden the RG a few times and test rode a SGS yesterday and realized I like the feel of the batwing better. I also felt better protected from the elements with the batwing.

Although I love the limiteds and would consider another, I'm drawn to the lower weight/cost and more stripped down look(I may add quick detatchable items).

What should I expect to pay OTD at a dealer for a low mileage 16' SGS (colored)? Love the veocity red sunglo. As far as the 16 Road Glide Specials, I couldn't get any dealer to budge below $19.5 k OTD. Thanks for having me and hopefully I'll be a full fledged member soon!

Welcome to the fun. The funny thing is you can turn you street glide into a Ultra in about 10 minutes or less with detachable parts.

True, but I'm starting to second guess whether I should go in the direction of a limited vs a SG. The OTD on this SGS (2k mi) is $18.5 w/ color matched lowers...not sure if that's a good/bad price. At some point, I'd be looking at adding King TP (maybe Advan Black) and upgraded suspension and various other do-dads.

That's the thing about these Harleys that the other bike brands fall short on. You can get just about anything you want for these bikes to make it your own or more usable for your needs. SO you could go with the street glide and add the tour pak or the ultra and get a detachable mount and turn it into a street glide. So with the detachable mounts you can get anything you want for 1 up riding or 2 up riding the choices and brands are almost endless. There is no less then hundred seats out there to try out for all kinds of different sized people and you can always have one made to fit.
