Online orders - no gift cards allowed?

So, I've been saving my Harley points to purchase my king tour Pak - today was the day that I was going to order. As it turns out, I've tried three different dealers online and none of them accept HD gift cards for online purchases. WTF - very disappointed.

There are two different HD gift cards:

1. Local HD Dealership cards that can ONLY be used at THAT dealership

2. ONLINE HD Gift Cards purchased from MAIN HD SITE can be used at ALL HD dealerships... ANYWHERE


I ran into this about a year ago... they should explain it better. I get all my gift cards from people from the main HD website now.... if somebody goes to a dealership and buys $100 gift card in SAC, CA... I cannot use it in Reno, NV

OH!! I overlooked the ONLINE purchase... sorry about that... by bad. Try calling them and ordering... worth a shot. I know it's frustrating...

I save my Harley points too, but only redeem them in a store on my phone after confirming the store will accept them. I don't like the surprises. I've had good success doing this in Virginia and Texas. Hope this helps.

I really like that they switched from the chrome cash to an actual HD gift card. Makes life much easier.

Of course all the dealers that I'm looking at online are closed on Sunday. : (

You can use Kutter gift cards on the kutter parts site but you can't use HD gift cards. It sucks! I ran into this a month ago.

You won't get the kutter online price in the dealership. I tried twice LOL.

Ironically, this annoyance turned into a good thing. I found another dealer that was even less then the three I was looking at! They honored the gift card (though, I did have to call after placing the online order) and have had great correspondence so far. Color matched king tour pak will take 4-6 weeks. Not quite sure why so long...but I knew that going in.

By the way, order received. Only a 10 day wait...New Castle HD was VERY pleasant to deal with.
