Optima digital 400 battery charger

Has anyone used this type of charger/maintainer on their bike? The Optima Digital 400 comes w/ both clamps and ring terminals to connect to battery. Obviously I don't want to remove seat, ECU to connect to battery! I can see in the manufactures picture of the charger that half way down the charging lead you can disconnect/separate the charging lead to change between clamps or ring terminals. The connection is just like the battery tender connector on my 2014 SGS. I'm wondering weather I could plug the charger directly into the battery tender connection to charge/maintain battery?? Yes, it plugs straight in. Just remove the left panel, extract the socket and route it through the gap at the base, connect and refit the panel. Done.
