Overheating on a '14 SGS?

Hey guys, I have a weird question for you....

This is my first Harley and also my first air cooled bike. On my '14 SGS is there some sort of diagnostic to let me know if she is close to overheating? Should I watch oil pressure or is it close once EITMS kicks in?

I was in stop & go traffic on a 95 degree day and I got a little worried, so I have been wondering ever since.

Thanks for any info.

The EITMS on a 2014 is programmed to kick in based on ambient temperature not the engine temperature. Use a good brand of synthetic oil that can take the heat and don't worry about it. If you are in 100 degree or higher a lot and in stop and go traffic I would use a 60 wt multi-grade synthetic.
