Hi
Looking to put a detachable backrest on my '14 Street glide Sepcial.

Question is, how big of a backrest does a guy go with?
Thinking I'll take my lady friend down to dealership and see if there is a bike or 2 around that we can sit on to get an idea before I order the stuff

I chose the low profile to blend with the stock tapered seat. However, I also have an Ultra seat and Tour pack in case Momma wants to ride with me. heh heh.

My bike came with the low backrest but it did not hold my luggage secure enough.

had to purchase the "tall" one to hold my luggage more securely and my bride likes the tall one much better.

When I am by myself, no backrest.

I bought the tall for the wife with a medium size pad she loves it, but its her 1st backrest.

When i bought my 14 ( with out wifes permision ) i went with the largest pad (13 1/2 × 9 1/2 ) to keep her comfortable, after all that's why i bought it , she said it's the perfect size.

Update..
Guy on one of the facebook groups I'm on, messaged
Me and asked if I could use some aftermarket stuff for
My Street Glide. Turns out he had a 4 point docking set up
And a what I believe to be a black, medium height backrest and pad, plus a new sundowner smooth seat
And a set of black highway pegs .. snagged it all for $600 bucks!
Everything is like new.
Girlfriend is rather happy
