In installing the sounds audio I bought from Bryan. I just need power and ground cable. My question is how long do the cables have to be?

If I remember right BB the ground is to the battery along with the power lead. Tapped into the accessory plug wire (cigarette lighter) for on and off power for the amp. I think Spazz will be on in the morning or tomorrow afternoon or Bryan or Chad can answer also.

Thanks Tom. Any idea how long the power and ground cables need to be to reach the battery from the amp? Apparently most automobile amp install cable kits only come with 3' of ground cable. Trying to figure out if that going to be long enough for the ground to span the distance. I'm flying by the seat of my pants on this one never in my life have I installed a amp and speakers. Have done a few head units before though.

Power and ground leads need to be approx the same length since they BOTH run from the amp to the battery. You can find 6g-8g wire by the foot at some specialty electrical shops. Not sure if the car audio kits have enough length ... close to 4-5 feet if my memory serves me correctly.

Stopped at a local car audio shop and picked up the power and ground cables today along with a fuse holder and fuse. Tomorrow is install day.

Where the hell do you mount the crossover boxes?

What gauge wire for the remote wire? Or do I use the auto sense function?

I have the speaker pods me moded and speaker mounted in the pods and the pods and amp tray back in the bike. Just need to pick up some Velcro to mount the amp. And wire it up. Looks pretty straightforward.

There is a single wire with a white plug in the fairing you can use for amp turn on. The cross overs can be mounted either inside the pods or outside, I had them outside.

Bluebowtie,

Should we send Spazz over? LOL

David

Where's my ticket?!?!? I'll be done in a hour and we can both drink beer!

X-over boxes get double-sided tape and fixed in the openings just inside the pods on the metal support bracket. The trigger wire should be 14g and I hooked mine to the 12v outlet ( cig lighter )

Just did a level IV 4 speaker install in my old 14SGS with the new Moto 600.4 and new Focal EC165's.... Peter has come leaps and bounds on the plug and play since Feb 2014.....much cleaner and easier

Power and ground cable

Glad you got it all wired up.

The 8' of extra wire speaker wire kinda confused me for a minute.

So I used the wire with the white plug for the remote. I stripped my wire and stuffed it the white plug. It seems to be fairly secure. Is this the correct way or should or should I splice into the blue wire?

CONGRATS!!!! Neighbors will learn to accept your loudness... lol!!!

I really don't care if I wake them up. They don't worry about waking me up at 0800 with there lawnmower.

Thank you to both of you for the help and support.
