Has anyone used Pro Guards on their bagger before? I'll be installing them on my 2018 SGS. They shouldn't stand out too much, given the fact that the highway bar and saddlebag guards are black. Here's a demonstration video.

I test fit these on my bike yesterday and dicovered a few of things that I did not like.

1. The front guards are much easier to install than the rear guards, due to the fact that they are larger in diameter and more flexible.

2. The front guards have some free play in them and can move up and down a bit on the highway bar. Three zip ties would probably fix this, but would not not look good doing it.

3. The rear guards do not fit well at all, as they don't follow the exact contour of the saddlebag guards.

Will the Pro Guards save your highway bar and saddlebag guards from damage? Yes they will, but the product design and fitment could be improved.

I have not seen anyone using these but I do see a value for rental and police bikes!

I absolutely agree with you Mojo. I hadn't seen any bikes with them installed in person and thought they might be good to have in the event of a tip over. Now that I have them and have discovered the cons, I doubt that I will be using them on my bike.

Are those leather wraps that people out around crash bars still a thing? Probably not as low key as a form fit plastic shell but they too would prevent drop damage.

I used the crash bars on my 14 doing parking lot practice. They worked but yes I did have 2 spots ground to bare metal from the slide. The good thing is it was so low you'd have to be on your hands and knees to see it.

Very good point about any damage being so low that it wouldn't be as visible. I've dropped my 2015 a few times with the chrome guards in place and there is no visible damage, although I can feel the roughness on the bars where they made contact with the ground. I was just more concerned that the black powder coat on the 2018 guards is not as durable as the chrome, so I decided to try the Pro Guards as protection. However, as Mojo said, they have their place on rental or police bikes, but not mine.
