Pros/cons of adding lower fairing??

I have them, originally I was going to take them off in warmer weather but I like the way they look so I left them on. They haven't gotten in the way of anything, however they will change the airflow around you, I seem to get more wind blowing my shirt up when I use the highway pegs. Other than that I'm happy with them, and they help slightly in rain.

Just added them a few weeks ago, biggest reason was so I add another set of Focal speakers.

I put a set on a few months ago. So far I'm happy. kinda like the look, working out good in this cooler weather, and not in the way.
I got mine off the bay for $198 shipped from Jet. I was pleased with the quality overall. I bought the cheaper ones because I had to trim the bottoms because of my lower floorboards.
Didn't want to f-up a $559 set of HD ones.IMG_3534.jpgIMG_3536.jpg

Putty- according to your link- I got this message:

This part is not compatible with 2014-15 Harley-Davidson Street Glide FLHX.

I love mine. Added speaker pods. Good protection in rain, like Scott14 said seems to be little more air up my shirt especially when I wear a shop/garage shirt(button up). I also ordered from eBay. No problem with fitment

Very satisfied with mine...mostly for the lower speakers. Does add cold weather protection and added fairing mounted wind deflectors making the ride very comfortable in forty degree temps.

Farmboy do you have extended controls? If so how much?

These were the first thing I added. I did it for the rain and wind but then I added speakers.

I have the Tallboys floorboard relocated kit. $198. Sott brake extended brake pedal $149? Baker custom inc. Extended shifter around $75, and extended floor boards $168.
Several members here are using the Tallboys floorboards.

I have a friend that rides an Ultra with factory lowers and he took them off because of the wind issue. He gets wind that comes up and around them, wanting to blow his helmet off from the bottom. Apparently Harley doesn't make the fork-mounted wind deflectors for his bike. I have the soft lowers I use during winter riding to keep the rain off my lower legs/boots.

There is a wind deflector that mounts to the bottom of the triple tree, kind of a flat plate that goes rearward to just above the crash bar, and is no wider than the forks. Not very large, but it help stops that air coming up from below, and actually redirects it right to the heads.

Farmboy how many inches on the extended controls?

The floorboard mount moves them 2" forward and 2" down. Also drops the heal about 2.5"
The floorboards I'm using mount 1" forward than normal.
I'm using a 2" extended brake pedal and 1" extended shifter

Who makes the floorboard mounts and do you have problems dragging the floorboards in tight turns?

Someone suggested to me that I buy hard lower fairings for my bike. Guys that have them, do you like them? Do they help, get in the way...any issues?

These in particular...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Painted-Leg...ash=item2c8950da68:g:KSkAAOSwBLlVUAKK&vxp=mtr

Pros= Some wind and rain protection. Another place to add speakers. Extra storage if you don't add speakers

Cons= Engine and you get warmer in the summer.

I bought the Chinese knock off set like the one you posted. They work but don't expect quality like the ones from HD.

Con: HD Lowers=COST !
Pro: I went with soft fairings, they are cheap,
Pro: easy to install/uninstall:eek:
Pro: Great cold weather protection:cool:
