Yeah I have the same question. My bike is black and even though I am adding chrome like a mad man it seems like the bag guards would hopefully "disappear" and keep that sleek back end look intact .....looking forward to what others think???So, I was thinking. My SGS came with the chrome engine guards. Would going black with the saddlebag guards look good or bad? Not sure. What say you?

I have both engine and saddle bag guards. Ain't no way they will ever look good. No guards is the good look IMHO. However, I can't stand the thought of my bike on its side with no guards so I live with 'em.
Back in Black I say.
This happens if you put them on backwards I am told.......mine do not hitI just bought the chrome ones and will probably install them today. I also bought the fork air deflectors. Sad to say, they hit the crash bar when turning.

ALA- Just in case you don't know, the fork deflectors install curve side out. I know it seems odd but thats the way to keep them from hitting engine guard.
I turned the deflectors around with the curve out and they didn't hit the crash bar. I don't think they look as good this way but what ever works, huh. Thanks for the info. Also installed the crash bar in front of the bags today...that was fun too!
