So, I was thinking. My SGS came with the chrome engine guards. Would going black with the saddlebag guards look good or bad? Not sure. What say you?

Yeah I have the same question. My bike is black and even though I am adding chrome like a mad man it seems like the bag guards would hopefully "disappear" and keep that sleek back end look intact .....looking forward to what others think???

I have been going thru picks on websites, I have a vivid black bike and I think I am going to go with black so they don't
stand out so much. Chrome just doesn't look right to me

I have both engine and saddle bag guards. Ain't no way they will ever look good. No guards is the good look IMHO. However, I can't stand the thought of my bike on its side with no guards so I live with 'em.

Back in Black I say.

Paul65- I agree with you on yours.

I'm with you Hulkss- there is a trade off but a benefit with the both guards.

Hey SPRNT96,
Could you post a picture if you go with the black rear guards. I think alot of us would be interested to see how it looks. Also, I agree with most of you, although the rear guards might not be the look you want on your bike, they are better then the alternative if you put the bike on its side!

Also adds another grasping point and tie down point. The old style on the '13s & down does interfere with the passengers legs a slight bit as compared to the '14s & up. Still worth it IMO.

I just bought the chrome ones and will probably install them today. I also bought the fork air deflectors. Sad to say, they hit the crash bar when turning.

This happens if you put them on backwards I am told.......mine do not hit :D

Yea, I read a lot of posts about these. I guess backwards looks right to me. I'll have to try the "right" way. Thanks!

ALA- Just in case you don't know, the fork deflectors install curve side out. I know it seems odd but thats the way to keep them from hitting engine guard.

I turned the deflectors around with the curve out and they didn't hit the crash bar. I don't think they look as good this way but what ever works, huh. Thanks for the info. Also installed the crash bar in front of the bags today...that was fun too!

Those fork deflectors, ugly as they are were the best single improvement for reducing buffeting I've seen.

I vote black. I'll eventually get them simply for the added "just in case" protection and like mentioned hopefully in black they won't be all that noticeable.

I have both the chrome engine guards and the bag guards. I find it not disturbing at all . Gives a little shine !
