So the red indicator light came on while I was riding on the speedo. Kinda alarmed me, not sure what that could mean. Bike seems to be running ok. Any ideas would be great. Appreciate the help.

I had that happen almost 1000 miles ago. I cycled the ignition at a stop light and restarted the engine and it hasn't happened again since. I did a little research and it references the BCM (Body Control Module) as the culprit. I installed LED lights all the way around on my motorcycle and was thinking it had something to do with the load equalization for the lights. I also have an aftermarket amp and speakers and have noticed that when I play the stereo loud for a period of time with the engine off and the battery voltage gets near 12V, the left rear turn signal develops a mind of it's own and gets very dim and blinks. Sometimes it will even stay on all by itself.

Note: My research revealed that there were recalls issued for the 2014 Breakout and Softail Slim. The problem is due to a programming error in the body control module, where the brake lamp lit area may be less than what is allowable by the above standard. This could render the vehicle less visible to other motorists, possibly resulting in a crash.

I just added LED lights all the way around and was wondering if this could possibly be it as well.

So you say a red indicator lamp came on in the speedo. Was it the oil lamp?? I think that's the only red indicator lamp on the speedo face other than the security indicator..Maybe you should pay your dealer a visit.

The red light he's referring to is the security light.

The security light is also a signal for electrical issues with the BCM and key fob.

The security light will come on as a light out indicator....check all the signal and brake lights for proper function.

Custom dynamics says to turn on the 4 ways for at least 3 minutes to recalibrate the bcm...if that doesn't work you may need resistors

Well I figured it out. So I put Custom Dynamic LED turn signals all the way around my bike including the LED strip below the windshield, and the rear LED bag lights for more lights. I didn't want to spend quite the money on the CD headlight that is $440, so I did some research and found a Hogworkz LED headlight that I really liked and the price was right at $220. So I trouble shot the CD lights and that wasn't it. I then went ahead and took out the Hogworkz light and put the stock light back in to see if the red light would go out (yes it is the security light that also acts a electrical issue). It did, so I went back and put the Hogworkz light back in, did the emergency flashers for 5 minutes and all is working great. Appreciate everyones help.
