Reposition not Relocate

Instead of buying a fairing antenna or even an antenna relocation kit I opted to go with the HD Shorty antenna and modify the stock bracket. I will call this repositioning. On the stock mount there is a tab that rides against the vertical support. Just bent the tab a bit to lean the shorty back a few degrees and problem solved. Picture shows stock antenna position vs the installed shorty. Just enough to clear the luggage rack and luggage.

Here's a picture of the mounting bracket bolted up and the tab bent up just a bit to allow for fudging position

I went with the hidden fairing antenna on my bike and love it. But then I bought a shorty antenna to convert it into a flag staff. But still have the hidden antenna hooked up. Crazy, I know. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1438219087.865917.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1438219105.400284.jpg
