I had got Ride ON Tire gel put into both my new tires for balancing on my Goldwing a few months back. I was really happy with it until this past weekend, I was passing a string of cars and was doing well over 120 kilometres an hour (over 75 mph) and the bike went into a violent shake. As soon as I dropped my speed down to 120 kph, it went away and was perfectly smooth again. Not saying the Ride on gel is good or bad, just sharing my experience. Maybe a heads up for anyone wanting to try this stuff to maybe do a little research. I don't have it in my Street Glide and would not put it in now.

I believe the problem is: When you are accelerating hard (passing), gel or balancing beads are moved away from the location they need to be at to achieve balance. This is one reason I will not use them.

Maybe your front tire is cupped and it is not the gel at all. I had a similar problem on my former Deuce. Tried rebalancing with weights and then again with beads. Replace what looked like a perfectly good tire and the problem went away. Could actually see the cupping after the tire was unmounted.

Both of my tires are new, just got them replaced and got the gel put in. It wasn't just a vibration, more like violent shaking. First I thought something had broke or I had a flat tire, then I thought of the gel. I don't know which tire was doing it, the whole bike was shaking.

Well, just for shats and giggles, check to make sure your tire is mounted (directionally) correct.

I have ride on in my tires and it is smooth to 100+mph
