Rockford Fosgate amp setup

I installed an RF amp and followed the instructions from RF of flashing the radio and what happens is after the flash, I get no sound at all. Reset it back the way it was and I get sound.

I have the front speaker wires connected to the input of the amp and the amp set to high level input. I've set the amp gain by turning it all the way down, turning volume up, then turning gain up. It sounds like garbage.

So then I figured I should do the radio flash. The flash required setting the radio from 0 amps to 1 amp. When I do this, I get no sound. I think what's happening is when you set the radio to 1 amp, it turns off the high level speaker outputs and turns on an amp output. I think this amp output is one of the un-connected 4 pin connectors, but I don't know which one.

Can anyone confirm the wire colors for the front+, front-, rear+ and rear-? Talking about the amp output plug, not the stock front speaker outputs.

Thanks

I believe with a flash, you'll need a remote source. I used the cigarette lighter as it's switched via ignition.

Did you do the RF amp? Did you use the factory front speaker wires? I'll try hooking up a remote wire. After the flash did you set the amp to high or low level input?

Thanks

I have a Pbr300x2 with a cycle sounds magic box in lieu of a flash. After installing the magic box I had to use the remote wire.

I don't recall any high or low level setting. Amp is set to a gain of about 7, all pass with crossover set to the center (not sure where it should be) . I retained the stock connectors that come out of the head unit but after that it is all aftermarket as I have the Polk crossovers connected to the amps output molex connector.

Azglocker is correct about needing a remote source. after the 1 amp on / 4 speaker flash for installing an aftermarket amp to gain a flat frequency. If your amp is set up having the speaker wires (high level) just going to the amp instead of using the RCA's (Low Level) then the flash will turn off the signal sense ability to turn the amp on. After the Flash you received Road Warrior you had no sound because as I stated you lost the ability for your speaker wires to turn the amp on.
