Does anyone currently/or have ran the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 amp? I have heard some issues with this amp including that it runs pretty hot and cuts out. I was considering this amp to run my Alpine Type R speakers.

I did have that amp before I upgraded to the ARC. It does run hot, very hot. Other then that I didn't have any issues with it.

Crash, the pbr300x2 is a much better amplifier than the 4 channel version, you are better off getting the two channel version and running it at 2 ohms if you have 4 speakers to run

This was an issue when the 300x4 first came out but RF took care of that in short fashion. No problems with it other than it being an under-powered amplifier. There are better choices out there for a 4-channel amp but as SDLiner pointed out, the 300x2 is a much better choice if only running 2 speakers or even 4 speakers.
