Saddlebag recall

My bike is again on the list for this one. Does anyone know what they are doing for the recall? I already installed Bagger STD's on mine after reading a lot of other stories about peoples bags falling off.

A new design fastening system_ don't worry, Bagger STD's are much better!

I have to take the bike into the dealer for this so I get off the recall S-list. But, I also have taken measures myself and fixed the problem. I guess I'll take it in and let them go through the motions.

I'd like to find out if they'll refund me the price of a new bag and lid seeing as it wasn't my fault after all.

I was talking to the dealer the other day about that and they were telling me it usually happens when the bags are loaded and heavy. I replaced mine with bolts and a nutplate....it will take a beating and they will stay on.

My bag was empty when it fell off my bike

So I went to the dealership today. They are going to reimburse me what I paid to replace my bag.

One of the first updates was getting rid of those stock clips. I bought the Reda saddlebag locks. Best $20 I've spent for the bike.

I went into my dealer over the weekend and Harley will be replacing my left side bag and lid from when my bag fell off a few months ago so now I'm a Happy camper

That's great to hear. Glad they're stepping up for you.

Went into dealer Tuesday morning in anticipation of leaving on our 3week trip the next day. They were awesome, got me right in and did the change while I waited.....apparent the fix is to replace the "wire" and not the Zuess fastener......they also took care of a pesky gas cap cover issue and everything is like new.

Not my dealer but my buddies place about 300 miles from where I live. They let us wait in the HOG room (we certainly don't have one of those) and gave us updates every 15 minutes while we waited.....way to go Huntington Beach Harley

Looks like MOCO is stepping in the right direction.

Paul65k,
Every dealership should treat customers as well as your experience at Huntington Beach HD. Our local dealer is top notch also.

I have a 2009...no issues with the bags falling off, but as I just started my handlebar conversion, I found that all of my allen head screws that hold the latch to the right bag fell out!!! What a bitch!! Have any of you had this problem?
