I checked my '14 and could not duplicate it thankfully.

Screws are too tight on the housing or (quadrant)

I agree, not assembled properly, hand grip is not fully seated over the twist grip sensor, and housing not properly installed around grip.

Thats my guess....shouldn't be able to push in and hear a "click"....

Torn that apart a few times...when reassembling either the throttle has play in it or too tight as in this case

you can see from the get go that the throttle grip is binding and badly set.
