So, I only listen to pre-recorded music on my bike, as I have taken the antenna off completely. I use a USB thumb drive with about 400 songs on it. Has worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. Suddenly, for no reason (that I am aware of) the left hand control that would advance the track stopped working. The "joystick" works when changing volume, but not when pushing right and left to change track. Worked fine for months and I know of no settings that I changed. The control works for regular radio, etc, just not USB drive. So, I ask my dealer service guys..they have no clue. They messed around with it but could not figure it out..so, I figured- not a big deal. Well, when I left the dealer my stereo started repeating the same song all the way home. I figured one of the guys just turned on the repeat feature and I'd fix it when I got home. I turned off "repeat" and set it to "shuffle". NO DICE!!! It is still repeating 1 song over and over infinitely!!! WHen you look at playlists, etc it only shows there being 1 song to play...but, if you do a "Find" it sees the other songs..so they are there, just wont play them. Anyone have a clue how I can fix this?? Or reset the whole system or something?? I like the Allman Brothers, but don't want to listen to Whipping Post for the rest of my life on repeat.

I use a USB thumb drive with over 10,000 song on it myself, never had the problem that you are having. Try removing the thumb drive then reinstalling it so that your radio has to read it again, also make sure that you are listening to all genre.

I have been told by a dealership that a lot of issues the radio has can be solved with a hard reset. This is done by removing power from the radio completely by pulling the main fuse. It sounds like a software issue so this may take care of it. If you have an alarm siren installed, pull the fuse with the ignition turned on as to not set off the siren.

Good luck!

losbright1, DO NOT TRY THE FUSE JUST YET.

I just came back from a ride testing my new helmet and headset and I accidentally and unintentionally duplicated your exact problem, so it has to be a firmware glitch.

Anyway, I used the voice command to play a specific song and it just kept repeating. Pulling the USB stick did no good and powering down with ignition switch also failed. I came back in my apartment, reread your post to verify it was the same problem. I looked up instructions to do a hard reset on the radio and at the same time, deleted the repetitive song off the USB stick.

I then went back outside, turned it all back on and reinstalled the stick. It took a couple seconds for the radio to reread the stick and it started playing a random song and the track numbers were back on the screen. I was able to change tracks again and the tracks all show in the track list. So try deleting the song first before a hard reset. I am including the reset instructions I found on hdforums.com just in case but do not know for sure they work.

This is out of the 2014 Touring electrial diagnostic manual. Maybe try this? To enter the service menu:
1. Turn IGN OFF. Wait 15 seconds.
2. Press and hold power/mute button. Turn IGN? to ACC.
3. Continue to press power button for 2 seconds after the WARNING screen is displayed.
4. Release power/mute button and accept warning.
The service menu may display Diag Service not Availiable when a menu option is initially selected. This message will clear once the system has finished performing the power-on process. Options are: DTCs, Audio, Display, Key input, Component menus, Version info, Reset, Touchscreen.
Reset: Pre-calibration reset: Restores fatory default settings. This is recommended when there are radio symptoms and no DTCs*
Post calibration save: Archives customers settings so that they can be restored after a Post calibration Reset.
Post calibration reset: Resets the radio to factory default settings and restores the last archive data stored during Post calibration Save. Give it a whirl? Let me know if this works?

I sure hope this fixes it for you. Good luck!

I experienced the same thing once and it appeared to happen when I selected a song on the drive. Afer that it only showed 1 tracl no others just repeated the same song. I removed the USB reinstalled it and was back to where I started.

I removed the thing 3 times last night. No worky. Oh well, good now but too much freezing fog and mist to ride today so far.

Mine turned out to be a setting I had inadvertently messed up. The guy at another local dealership fixed it. Something to do with a Presets setting being wrong. So, its all good now..and just in time for me to ride about 180 miles in the mountains yesterday. It was a great weekend in SC..60+ degrees both days.

losbright1 In the radio Presets select SEEK and not SCAN. Your left joystick will now RR or FF the next song in the playlist.
