Took delivery of my 2015 SGS yesterday. Looking into backrests. Sales guy said to install docking station, left shock had to be flipped 180 to make room for hardware. Anyone heard of this before?

The 14 and 15 both have to have the right side shock flipped in order to put a back rest bar on. Was about to pull my hair when I could not get it to lock down.

Subscribing. On My 2015 SGS I ordered and installed the detachable docking kit and a whole tour pack set up. I never encountered an issue with the shocks?
I have to say I love my 14 FLHXS but I think its been 3 recalls now & also just found my front cylinder plug wire rubbed through thanks to forum members on this site...
The radio sucks & had to buy a bunch of mods to help the inrush of air from underneath the fairing...
The stock suspension is not up to par for a $22k + cost motorcycle...

ON the special, the left shock won't be upside down, the right one, maybe. If you are putting on a passenger backrest and pad, you will soon be in the market for a better seat for that passenger. A seat off an Ultra bolts right on and your passenger will thank you for it.
